October Sunshine

Yowzers! It’s been ages since I’ve posted anything on this blog! I’m going to make a serious effort to post more regularly and to post more diverse content. Looking back, I feel like this blog was poised to become a travel blog of sorts because I only wanted to post when I had gone somewhere. But that isn’t really the kind of blog I want it to be. I’d like to share my travels but in addition to outfits, crafts, recipes, and more. So to kick things off, here is what I wore today!

????????????????????????????????????

I had a meeting earlier in the day that I had to drive a little ways to and this was very comfortable to wear. There is a chill in the air now that October is here so I opted for over-the-knee socks for warmth. They don’t dig in to you like tights do so I thought they were a good choice for my journey.

I bought that eagle ring at the Mashpee powwow over the summer. I fell in love with it and it was only ten dollars! It’s a little big but I can wear it on my middle finger without it falling off too easily.

I love to wear layers in my outfits and fall is the perfect season for layering. The lacy garment I’m wearing underneath is actually a night gown, I think. It’s by Free People but I got it at T.J. Maxx and it’s made of very thin, transparent material so I need to wear something over it or under it if I want to wear it in public.

I’m hoping to get a little more comfortable posing in front of the camera and to get more creative with my poses. I should really get a tripod so I can take photos in different places. I was propping my phone up against my fence to take these shots, which didn’t allow for much variety in angles!

Cozy Winter Outfit

100_1119Why Hello! Here is my cozy winter outfit. No I don’t have a rectangle shaped hand, just a phone in my cardigan pocket.

This was my first time taking pictures with a tripod. Sure, it was broken but it got the job done! If you can forgive some of my facial expressions while I get used to taking so many selfies, we can be friends.

It snowed on Thanksgiving night (American Thanksgiving) so there was snow on the ground when I woke up yesterday. It seemed like a good time for a photo outside. I nearly froze my fingers off messing with the tripod but it was a good learning experience!

So about that snow…let me just walk over and show it to you.

100_1112Not a lot but enough to remind us that winter is very much on its way and kind of already here.100_1116This picture makes me think that i could use a better camera, or better cropping skills or something. It looks a little pixelated. But I love this outfit. The layers and textures make it feel so cozy and it has elements of summer outfits in it, which makes it budget friendly. The white lacey bit you see around the hem is actually a bathing suit cover-up and I wore the dress over it. You’d see a bit of lace at the neckline too if I wasn’t wearing my scarf (it’s not real fur by the way). The cardigan made it warm enough to wear out shopping, hurrying from car to store.

100_1127Textures are a beautiful thing, folks.

I hope anyone reading this had a great Black Friday and is well on their way to a great Saturday.

100_1111Thanks for bearing with me while I navigate this whole blog and photography landscape. I feel like I learn something new with each post.
